 Billy Bear 4
Kids
Worksheets and Writing Paper from Billy Bear 4 Kids. There are some
sweet early worksheets here - a very useful blank page (with lines
drawn for little children), practice patterns, a page for each
letter individually and one for the whole alphabet. There is also
one for numbers. Further down the page there are lots of themed
blank writing pages which you could use for practice throughout the
year as appropriate.
BoohBah
Young children and their parents may already know the BoohBahs. This
site has lots of fun activities for little computer-users and not a
word of explanation - they have to work out what to do. "It's
magic!" says the Vaultman.
Camelsdale First School Teach with ICT
Lots of downloadable resources for using ICT with early years children. Veronica Carter ,
the school's EY Co-ordinator (some of whose work is already in our Resources Vault) has
collected materials prepared by herself and her colleagues. Most of the materials are MS
Powerpoint files and cover Numeracy, Literacy, Technology and Science. Many of the
resources here could be adapted to use with older children.

Mathematics Network
CMN is an
international, non-profit-making organisation for teachers,
practitioners, students, researchers and teacher educators working
with children in the birth-8 year age range. They focus on
children's mathematical graphics and the meanings children make.
Although the site is still a little light on content, what is there
is fascinating and well worth a look. (Oh, and it's a site that
ICTeachers built!)

The website for Eric Hill's Spot. Online activities for children and a Grownups' page with
links and other information. First rate!
ICT
in the Foundation Stage (Dudley Virtual Resource Centre)
Child friendly links to online activites. There is also a useful
teachers' page with lots of links.
The Kindersite
Online games, songs and stories aimed primarily at preschool and
Foundation age children. Free registration is needed to get the best
out of the site, but have a look at the Directory section.

NAACE Primary Early Years
BAsed on the old MAPE
Foundation pages this presentation looks at the way in which many
of the Early Learning Goals can be addressed using Information and
Communications Technology (ICT).
Northumberland Grid for Learning
There are some useful activities for learning mouse skills here - eg
design a face, dress Barnaby Bear etc.
Sebastian Swan
A literacy website designed for Reception and KS1 children and teachers by Kent LEA.
A collection of "Big Books" with supporting materials for teachers.
Children can post comments on the books to Sebastian's Blog. Excellent.
Starfall
An American site based on phonics. Lots of early
reading activities, stories etc.
Tiger Aki Stories
This kidsafe site has animated storybooks based on the character Tiger Aki. Also,
educational games e.g. that encourage children to tell the time, solve puzzles etc. Aimed
atr 2-7 year olds.
Underfives
This is an independent site which promotes
pre-school education and provides free learning resources, practical information and help
to all early years practitioners and parents. The site also has resources for use with
under fives.
UpToTen Free Site
online games and activities. They claim to be for
children up to 10 years old but seem much more aimed
at FS and KS1 age groups. Fun, though.
