Conductors and insulators

Some materials are conductors and some materials are insulators.

Conductors

These materials allow electricity to flow easily. We use these materials in electrical circuits.

Insulators

Insulators don't allow electricity to flow easily and we use these materials to protect ourselves.

In the table below click on the materials that are insulators

Well done Wood is an insulator is does not conduct electricity very well.

Copper is not an insulator, it is used for electrical wiring, so it must be a good conductor.

Well done plastic is an insulator it is used to cover electrical wiring to protect us and stop wires touching

Well done glass is an insulator it won't conduct electricity, but it does conduct heat, more about that in another review
