Electrical circuits Introduction

When we draw electrical circuits we need to ensure that they are CLEAR. To help us to do this we often use symbols so other people know what we mean. Here are some symbols that are used:

Remember that you need a complete circuit for electricity to flow!

Now your turnOn a piece of paper draw a circuit with one cell,  a bulb and a switch (open). When you have finished click on the finished button below.

This is what the circuit should look like with the switch open. For this circuit to work we would have to close the switch. Did you get it right?

How could we make the bulb brighter. Think about it and then click on answer.

The answer is to add more cells. Easy, wasn't it?

Next time we look at circuits it will be slightly harder, but just remember what you have learned.

Well done
